Astrology apps and websites in India: an honest comparison

There are many places to get a Kundli or talk to an astrologer online. This roundup explains what each popular option is good at, based only on what their own websites say, so you can pick the one that suits the question you actually have.

Disclosure: This guide is published by theAstroVega, which is run by D&D Technology, Jaipur. We are one of the options compared, so read it as a guide from an interested party. Competitor facts were checked on their official sites on 27 Oct 2026 (as of Oct 2026) and may change; follow the source links before you decide.

Astrology apps and websites in India: an honest comparison

First decide what you need

Most people who search for an astrology app want one of three things. Some want a free birth chart (Kundli) or a Panchang date for a festival or muhurat. Some want to talk to a human astrologer about a decision. And some want a ritual done, such as a puja by a pandit. The best platform for one of these jobs is often not the best for another.

A calendar-first site is excellent for dates and tithis but may not offer consultations at all. A consultation marketplace makes it easy to talk to someone within minutes, but you pay by the minute and the bill can grow quickly. So before comparing brands, write down your question and how much you are willing to spend on it.

  • Just want your chart or a date? Use a free calculator. You may not need to pay anyone.
  • Want a second opinion on a decision? Use a consultation platform that shows the per-minute rate before you start and lets you stop at any time.
  • Want a puja? Look for a service that tells you the full price and what is included before you pay an advance.

Who each option suits

AstroTalk

AstroTalk is a large consultation marketplace. Its homepage offers instant chat and voice calls, a free Kundli, a free first consultation and apps on both stores. It suits people who want to talk to someone quickly and like choosing from a big list of astrologers. Rates for the featured astrologers we saw ranged from about ₹33 to ₹86 per minute, so check the rate on the profile before you start.

AstroSage

AstroSage has a very wide set of free calculators and reports, from Sade Sati to Lal Kitab, plus horoscopes in many Indian languages. It also offers paid reports and a shop, and it now sells AI astrologer chats alongside human ones. It suits people who like to read and calculate on their own and want regional-language pages.

Astroyogi

Astroyogi's homepage promotes a free consultation for new users and a talk-to-astrologer service. When we checked, the homepage did not list rates, a free Kundli or app details clearly, so look inside the site or app before deciding.

Drik Panchang

Drik Panchang is a calendar first. It is widely used for tithi, muhurat and festival dates, with regional Panchang pages and Kundli tools. It does not list consultations, so it suits people who want accurate dates and charts without talking to anyone.

theAstroVega

theAstroVega, which publishes this guide, is designed around starting free and checking before you pay. The Kundli uses Lahiri ayanamsa checked against Swiss Ephemeris, Ask AI Free answers from your own chart and is clearly labelled as AI, and the first 5 minutes of your first chat are free. Phone numbers stay hidden in chats. It is a newer, smaller platform: the homepage listed 6 verified astrologers when we checked, far fewer than the large marketplaces, so you get less choice.

Five checks before you pay any astrologer

  1. See the rate first. Per-minute pricing should be visible before the timer starts. Ask how billing works if the call drops.
  2. Know when the free time ends. "First session free" offers have limits. Read them so the paid time does not surprise you.
  3. Keep your number private. Prefer platforms that hide phone numbers and keep the conversation in the app.
  4. Be wary of fear-based remedies. If someone says only an expensive gemstone or puja can save you, take a pause and get a second opinion.
  5. Use astrology for reflection, not emergencies. For health, legal or money problems, talk to a qualified professional.

Every option above lets you start without paying, so try the free part first. If the free chart and tools answer your question, you have saved money. If not, you will reach a paid consultation with better questions.

Sources and how we checked

We read each platform's official homepage on 27 Oct 2026 and wrote down only what the page itself states. Where a fact was not visible on the official page, the table says "Not publicly listed". Prices on consultation platforms change often and vary by astrologer, so we show only the range we saw on that day. We do not rate or score astrologers, and astrology is a belief and guidance practice, not a substitute for medical, legal or financial advice.
