Free Kundli apps and websites compared

A Kundli (birth chart) should be free, and on most good sites it is. The differences lie in which ayanamsa the site uses, how many extra tools you get, how it shows the chart, and how hard it pushes you towards paid reports. Here is a fair comparison based on each official website.

Disclosure: This guide is published by theAstroVega, which is run by D&D Technology, Jaipur. We are one of the options compared, so read it as a guide from an interested party. Competitor facts were checked on their official sites on 27 Oct 2026 (as of Oct 2026) and may change; follow the source links before you decide.

What makes a free Kundli trustworthy

Every Kundli calculator takes the same three inputs: date of birth, exact time of birth and place of birth. From these it works out the positions of the planets and the ascendant (lagna). Two calculators can still give slightly different charts because of choices made behind the scenes.

  • Ayanamsa. Vedic astrology uses the sidereal zodiac, which needs an ayanamsa correction. Lahiri (Chitrapaksha) is the most widely used in India. If two apps disagree on your Moon sign or nakshatra near a boundary, the ayanamsa is a common reason.
  • Time zone and place. A good calculator looks up the correct time zone and coordinates for your birthplace, including historical time changes.
  • Chart style. North Indian charts are diamond-shaped and South Indian charts are square; pick the one your family astrologer uses.
  • What is free. Some apps give the chart free and charge for interpretation. That is fair, as long as it is clear.
  • Privacy. Birth details are personal. Check whether you need to sign up and what the site does with your data.

Accurate birth time matters more than the app. If your birth time is a guess, every calculator will be uncertain about your ascendant, however good its maths is.

Notes on each tool

AstroSage

The widest list of free reports among the options we checked, and strong regional-language coverage. It is a good choice if you want to explore many calculations yourself. Expect prompts towards paid reports, a long Brihat Kundli report and a shop.

Drik Panchang

The calendar specialist. Its Kundli pages let you choose North, South, East or West chart styles, and it says all calculations are based on Drik Ganita. It does not sell consultations, so it stays focused on charts and dates. It shows ads, with an option to remove them.

AstroTalk

AstroTalk's free Kundli is a quick entry point to its consultation marketplace. It suits you if you plan to talk to an astrologer and want the chart ready for that conversation.

theAstroVega

Our own tool, so judge it with that in mind. It states its method openly: Lahiri ayanamsa, checked against Swiss Ephemeris. Alongside the Kundli you get Hindi Kundli, matching, Lal Kitab, Varshphal, KP system and more than 20 free tools. Ask AI Free lets you ask a question about your own chart and get an answer labelled as AI, before deciding whether to pay for a human astrologer. Free remedies are listed before any paid item, according to the homepage.

How to get an accurate Kundli from any app

  1. Find your birth time from a birth certificate or hospital record if you can; family memory is often rounded to the hour.
  2. Type the birthplace carefully and pick the correct town from the list, not a similarly named one.
  3. Use the same ayanamsa as your family astrologer when comparing charts. Lahiri is the usual default in India.
  4. If two apps disagree, compare the ascendant degree and Moon degree. Small differences near a sign boundary explain most mismatches.
  5. Save or download your chart so you do not need to re-enter details for every tool.

A free Kundli is a starting point. It describes planetary positions; it does not decide your future. Use it for reflection, and talk to qualified professionals for health, legal or financial decisions.

Sources and how we checked

We read each platform's official homepage on 27 Oct 2026 and wrote down only what the page itself states. Where a fact was not visible on the official page, the table says "Not publicly listed". Prices on consultation platforms change often and vary by astrologer, so we show only the range we saw on that day. We do not rate or score astrologers, and astrology is a belief and guidance practice, not a substitute for medical, legal or financial advice.

Questions people ask

Which app gives the most accurate free Kundli?

Accuracy depends mostly on a correct birth time and place. Among the sites we checked, Drik Panchang states that its calculations are based on Drik Ganita and theAstroVega states that it uses Lahiri ayanamsa checked against Swiss Ephemeris. Others do not state their method on the homepage.

Why do two Kundli apps show different results?

Usually because of a different ayanamsa, a different time zone or coordinates for the birthplace, or a birth time near a sign boundary.

Can I get a Kundli in Hindi for free?

Yes. theAstroVega offers a Hindi Kundli, and AstroSage and Drik Panchang have Hindi pages.

Do I need to pay to understand my Kundli?

Not always. theAstroVega's Ask AI Free answers questions from your own chart, and the free reports on AstroSage explain common combinations. Talk to a human astrologer if you want a personal reading.
